Aloe veterinary formula

Postby LJ4RockPebbler » Mon Feb 29, 2016 5:03 am

My bird continues to have problems with his feet, pecking and making them raw. I read about a product named aloe veterinary formula that helps sooth itching, flaking and dry skin in animals. Id like to know if anyone has heard about this product and if you have, what can you tell me about it. Thank you

I have not heard about this product from any sources, but I would very much be interested in learning more about it. If you have a link that I can check out, I would appreciate it, While I don't have any birds with this type of issue I do have a dog that get all itchy now and then. I do use aloe on him and it helps even though the products that I have been able to get from the vet do not seem to help and are much more expensive. Thanks.

I use aloe water to spray my birds and Rambo gets shots of it between showers because his feet crackle in the winter. I am also using red palm oil to soften his crusty feet so he will not pick them raw. His problem goes away in the summer.

I buy human food quality aloe in a gallon jug.

How long do you store your aloe? I read that there was a shelf life of 2 weeks at the most, is this true?

Thank you for the link it provided me with a listing of the ingredients and I would not use this product on any bird as one of the ingredients in it is propylene glycol with is one of the main ingredients of antifreeze. Bad stuff for any animal.

try bottled aloe vera from holland and barretts, it's liquid and i've put drops of it in my bird's water bowl, it can cause quick bowel movements if used exessively so be gentle with how much is given. Keep it in the fridge and it lasts about a month.
