
Well, corn is always the first thing they pick out of the gloop so your bird's reaction is perfectly normal - only the large species that have been with me for a long time eat the green beans in the gloop and then, just one every now and then but, on the other hand, they LOVE raw sugar snaps and snow peas. It's like Wolf said, you need to give them grains, especially at the beginning of the transition. Beans are not really part of any bird natural diet, we feed them pulses because they are high in protein with no fat to speak of but none of mine would eat Great Northern beans although I think it's more the size than the taste of them because they do eat the Small White beans I use in the gloop.
