They hide their problems from us until they are way to sick to hide it. Any time your bird acts different in any way take note of it and watch close. If it is something scary like you have found you need to get it to a vet.
These little beings are precious and totally dependent. Good human parronts will learn the personality of these little beings and be able to catch problems before they go too far.
Kudos to you for seeing the problem. His foot must hurt.
My Love Bird Tweetle Dee and Tweetle Dumb seemed okay until I noticed the Tweetle Dee was feeding his friend a lot more than usual. The vet could not figure out what was wrong with him but trimmed his beak because it over grew from not feeding himself. Tweetle Dee fed him, cared for him and protected him by always getting between me and Dumb until he passed.
