2016 September equinox

I have been so busy I forgot to mention this to you, guys. Sep/22 was the equinox and, if you have kept your birds at a strict solar schedule, you will observe that long days breeders are completely non-hormonal by now but short day breeders are either laying, nesting or sitting on eggs (Sophie CAG laid one egg three days ago and threw it out of her 'nest' the following day but she is still nesting). Ah, and she decided that Linus's nest (a corner of the room where he has his wood to chew) is hers so she ran him out of it and took possession of it! Ay ay ay...

Although I did not give it much thought at the time, about the 15th of the month Kookooloo, my Grey started getting very lovey, a sure sign that she is beginning her second breeding cycle of the year. I did know that this was when she would cycle back into breeding mode, I just did not give it much thought as I have become accustomed to her cycles.

Yes, I also follow them in a subconscious sort of way. When your bird is on a strict solar schedule, the annual biorhythms are almost like clockwork and one notices them but doesn't REALLY notice them because it's something that one has become accustomed to...
