Just my 2 cents...

The Rickeybird had terrible cockatiel-like night-frights. I stopped covering his cage and got him a bright nightlight (he has his own room) and that helped a lot. He grew out of them at about 10 years of age. Hasn't had one in ages.

I have a night light in my Cockatiel room. I don't like waking up in the middle of the night and not see my surrounding. Rainbow and Myrtle get a little of the deck light.
