GCC Diet

Postby amazhar » Thu Apr 27, 2017 4:40 pm

Dear ALL

Just got in a young GCC.

Need help with his diet plan.

What should I feed him and at what times?

He still isn't very comfortable and is not eating well yet.

I need a detailed plan please in order not to do any fatal mistakes.

Thank you All :gcc:

Depending on the age, you would need to handfeed twice or more times a day and/or offer soft foods served warm and freshly prepared twice a day (leave them in the cage all the time). How old is your bird?

Well, the thing is that breeders and petstores will tell you every single time that the baby is weaned but they never are -not completely. A two year old human baby can eat on its own but we don't give them adult food, we give them toddler's food, and we still feed it in its mouth with a spoon to make sure it's eating enough, right? Well, it's the same thing with baby birds, just because they can eat on their own, it doesn't mean one should just put adult food in their cage and call it a day. It's a longer process than that.
