No bread for the birds

Postby Pajarita » Thu Apr 11, 2019 10:32 am

Now, this article is about feeding ducks, geese or swans bread BUT the commercial one (not birdy bread, mind you!) is also bad for parrots and I'll tell you why: IRON content! Human bread is always fortified with iron because humans need a lot and hardly ever consume enough food that has it naturally BUT birds cannot have a lot of iron in their diets or they end up storing it in the liver so any cereal product made for humans is a NO NO for birds.
