Pellet Brands

Postby jhuff » Fri Jun 11, 2010 9:33 pm

What brands of pellets do your birds like, where do you get yours? I would just like a wider view of all thats out there. I saw in one of Michaels videos, Kili eats pellets that are really small, I havent seen anything like that here. Binx's food stinks, and I am pretty sure hes ready for the change too. He has been eating fruit pellets for 2 years now. I posted last month about him throwing his food out of his cage. He doesnt do that anymore, because we now have a bowl that bolts into the side of the cage, i still think hes very tired of the fruit pellets..

Harrisons and Roudybush are highly recommended.

I feed mine a mix of Totally Organic Pellets and Harrison's. One of my birds is wheat intolerant so I don't have much choice, but I am very satisfied with these foods and would likely be using the same brands were it not for the limitations. They seem to like both types equally, some days they eat out the Harrison's first and some days they eat out the T.O.P. first.

Here is their site: http://www.harrisonsbirdfoods.com/

I buy it online, but from a local distributor. Here, we can only get in from an online shop or from the Vet's, I was told that pet stores can't carry it. I don't know if it's like that everywhere or not.

I haven't seen the food in Kili's videos, but I know that Harrison's fine is a really small pellet.

Mine get different kinds.

I do give them a little seed and the mix I use for that has added Tropican pellets from Hagen. While they do nibble at it sometimes, it's not their favorite.

Most of the time, they'll get Roudybush and the Wild and Spicy Avian Entrée from Zupreem (it's by mixing the latter with the former that I got them to even try the Roudybush). They also on occasion get some Harrison's. I get the Harrison's online from a local bird store (by local I mean Canadian and I normally get my things in two days time). One of the pet stores in my city does sell it as well, but it is more expensive there than where I buy it.
