Birds love junk food!

This is an article on a study done on finches in the Galapagos but it applies perfectly to our pet parrots because so many people give them human food when they shouldn't. And this study shows that although we haven't yet determined what the long term effects of the junk food diet has on the finches, the fact that it changes the composition of the gut bacteria which needs to be perfectly balanced in order for the immune system to work correctly is VERY telling!
