My Sennie does not really care for fruit or vegetables very much, but he loves millet and cereal (sugar-free). He now expects millet as an evening snack.

I think they add sugar or high fructose corn syrup to everything in the U.S.! It's unfortunate to say the least.

most of the "honey" sold in my area is actually flavored corn syrup! luckily my mother-in-law has 2 beehives, so I get some really great honey

I just looked at one of my own jarrs just to make sure. But it even reads: "honey, the natural replacement for sugar". It says nowhere theres been honey or syrup added. Maybe its just a USA thing?

I really think it is a US thing. Almost everything that is from "real" sources like "real" honey, "real" maple syrup, even "real" fruits and veggies is marked up. I live in northern california and there is so much to choose from. I go into a store and they have 20 different kinds of peanut butter, and each kind has at least 3 different brands, and the cheap brand name stuff has a ton of preservatives and artificial flavorings. When I started actually reading labels I was surprised at all the crap in processed foods and in food sold as "pure" whatever.
I joined a CSA so I can get locally grown, seasonal, organic fruits and veggies. Jake and Scarlet's favorite treat is an organic grape or blueberry. In the summer I freeze them, Jake thinks it's ice cream and goes nuts.
