I KNOW we're not supposed to ask for diagnoses on the forum, I'd just kind of like some insight. I just took my bird to the vet today, and maybe it's me just being worried and overthinking, but her poops are looking really watery, like 60% just pure water (urates).
We're home now and she doesn't seem stressed, but the poops are all watery. I haven't seen her drink much water AT ALL today and I've been with her all day. In fact, for all the pellets she eats (she eats them like she prefers them to seeds) I thought I'd have a problem with poops being too dry.
Does a stressed bird release watery poops for a while? Do you notice after vet visits (maybe its getting blood drawn or the stress of being toweled, anything) that your bird's poops are more runny?
Her rectum is also open pretty wide, about a centimeter, and if she wasn't only a year old, I'd think she was trying to lay eggs or something.
Any ideas? I'm going to tell the vet when he calls to tell me her bacteria culture reports on saturday, but I'd love to be put to some ease until then, or know if I should really worry.
