6 health benefits of almonds

Postby Pajarita » Wed Feb 26, 2020 9:35 am

I love almonds myself and eat a fistful almost every day so my birds always get them but, what I like the best about feeding them almonds is that the shells are so soft that even the small ones or the ones with softer beaks can break them easily -that and their high calcium content, of course!

This is actually a petition to ban harmful pesticides but I put it here to illustrate how important it is to get organic almonds. Now, almond, because they are inside a hard shell, do not 'carry' the pesticides so one would think that buying the 'regular' ones is OK - but it's not. Almond trees are treated with so much harmful pesticide that the bees that pollinate them are dying and we can't afford to lose any more bees or continue harming the environment in such a way.
