Very interesting article that explain how bird lay the exact number of eggs the parents can raise well. Just as an FYI for newbies, parrots are highly altricial and their babies take much longer than other species of the same size to leave the nest. Also, there are no wild chronic layers - that's a completely unnatural thing that only happens in captivity and under bad husbandry.
