parrot dna sexing?

i know it doesent really matter but i really want to know if skeeter is a boy or a girl. ive heard dna sexing is only 20 dollars so i thought why not? so where and how do you get them dna sexed? does a vet do it or what?

A vet can definitely do it, I think you can also send away for a "kit" so you can get a blood sample and send it away yourself.

I'd say don't do a blood sample yourself but you can go for a feather sample which is easier but I think a little more costly. It's still cheaper to do a feather sample yourself than to do it through a vet.

I like the idea of pulling a feather even less than clipping a nail too short. I ordered the card from Health Gene several months ago, but I don't think I'm going to bother. Based on pictures I've seen DNA sexed females and females I've seen in person, I'm almost positive that Jessie is a male. He's always going to be my little buddy, nothing will change that.
