I was also wondering about sprouts, my husband and I eat a lot of sprouts but Hephaestion tends to not like the smaller sprouts like alfalfa, broccoli, clover, he likes the lentils buckwheat, barley, kamut and fenugreek better. His absolute favorite is sprouted green peas. I like these two but was recently shocked to find out how many calories they actually have in them especially compared to the other sprouts. I know that they are legumes not vegetables or grains like the others, should I feed these in tight moderation? I do weigh him at least once a week and he does a lot of flying around the house but I don’t want him to start gaining weight as he gets older. Years and years ago I found out my poor cockatiel weighed almost double what she should have when I took her to the vet so I’m trying to learn from that lesson
