Greens linked to 40 (FORTY) outbreaks in the last ten years! It is very important that leafy greens are washed thoroughly with soap and water because rinsing alone does not kill the bacteria. What I do is separate all the leaves I am going to use and soak them in a big bowl of cold water with a splash of anti-bacterial dish detergent - leave for 5 minutes or more and then rinse thoroughly.
