painting my house

Postby crittersareme » Sun Jul 04, 2010 11:07 pm

And another question please - how can I paint with parrots? They won't be in the same room, but I keep reading they have to be removed for three weeks, sometimes it takes 6 years for paint fumes, etc. I really need to paint so what can I do so they won't be harmed?
Thanks

Remove the birds, use low VOC paints...air the room well. I'd say as soon as you can't smell anything (even low VOC paints have a bit of odour) you can return the birds. Shouldn't take more than 3 days or so.

Keep the room well ventilated for as long as you can during the summer months (ie. windows open during the day or during hot nights, that kind of stuff). You should be fine by winter...
