Glad to hear she's using the gland again. If its an impaction that can be quite painful so it means the problem is likely resolving. Woohoo!!!

Hopefully resolves completely soon

Your Fids are on pellets I assume? Hence the vit A issues that can cause hyperkeratinisation shouldn't be too much of a concern for this case.

Last Thursday I again went to my avian vet, with Mickey and with my budgie Pookie. Anyway... he did another biopsy of the gland and sent it to a collegue who is a pathologist. The results again are... no cancer cells and no infection. So far so good.

But... if you see the gland it just doesn't look normal. It is more swollen and also it get blacker around it. So.. now I am trying another vet to ask. Here photos I took tonight.

Please! if someone recoqnizes this let me know.

I always go to dr. Peter Bastiaansen, Prinsenbeek. He's good too, but he ánd dr. Gerry Dorrestein cannot find out what it is. No infection, no tumor cells.. so I wrote Gerry tonight with these photos if he can ask Hedwig. You know... I live in Dordrecht and I don't have a car.. so it is horrible to go by bus and train to Veldhoven. Prinsenbeek is much better.

Ah, I get it. Thats a shame, Hedwig is loads of fun and she knows her business.
I heard the one in Prinsenbeek is pretty good. And if he is a descent vet he wont have any problems consulting another vet.

I know.. I went to Hedwig a few times.. after the loss of my first grey through pbfd and polyoma for several tests. At that point my dad drove me. She is a great person for sure! But also a very good avian vet.
