I'm really really sorry.. Reminds me of my Timneh that passed away. He was soo ill, there's NO avian vets not even in my city, my country. These dog-cat vets didn't help me either. He died in my arms. It's been eleven months but I still miss him so much and I totally understand you Rest in peace little boy..

my distant relative farm vet is actually in turkey. he was willing to see pet parrots. but i guess you're limited to physical distance no matter what.

Great example of why it's irresponsible and really downright cruel to get a parrot (or any pet) if you're going to be unable to provide it with adequate veterinary care should the need arise.

I think that's a little harsh under these circumstances. For one thing, the OP just lost their bird. For another, it is one thing to be unwilling to provide medical care -- another to be unable to obtain it. Is it better for someone living in a place where vets are not readily available to adopt a pet and give it the best life and care they can or for them to leave that animal in possibly worse hands?
