I think that's a little harsh under these circumstances. For one thing, the OP just lost their bird. For another, it is one thing to be unwilling to provide medical care -- another to be unable to obtain it. Is it better for someone living in a place where vets are not readily available to adopt a pet and give it the best life and care they can or for them to leave that animal in possibly worse hands?
