HELP! SHE SWALLOWED SOMETHING!

Postby Kirsten » Fri Nov 19, 2010 7:44 pm

I was playing with Skittles and she managed to break off one of the teeth on the zipper of my jacket! I tried to get it out of her mouth but it disappeared! I've already called several vets and the emergency vets (who apparently "don't treat exotics" and she gave some number to a wild bird place). The last vet I called was busy and said they would call me back! That was like...HALF AN HOUR AGO! I am freaking out. Skittles isn't acting out of place, which is good. I'm hoping that maybe she dropped it or it's sitting in her crop, waiting to be spat out. I feel so guilty and stupid. Does anyone have any advice? HELP!

Hi,

I don't want to alarm you but I am linking you to an article about zinc poisoning. It give symptoms that you can watch for. I think the real danger is if she swallowed something metal and it contains zinc. http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww14eiii.htm

Good luck.
