My conure isnt interested in them. i can hold it there for him and he might take a small nibble but never bothers with it alone. I think my previous greencheek wasn't too fussed about them either. It's just extra calcium for the bird. My neighbores budgie seems to like chewing on them but with a budgies beak it takes ages to get through.Im sure there's parrots out there with bigger beaks that love to chew which might get into them but from my experience- they just get dirty and I have to throw them away. Cheap excersise toy to destroy or boredom breaker which can be replaced easy. I wish Loro did like them because Im sure it would benefit him in some way- plus keep his beak in good condition.

Scooter occasionally chews, but is more likely to amuse himself by banging it against the cage bars.

my budgie loves them, my lorikeet never was intrested in one. i think its more important for female birds to have the calcium boost when they are laying eggs.

My cockatiel, Tucker, used to go through cuttlebones like a buzzsaw, but Merlin does not seem interested in the least. The first day he came home there was some action, but I think he had just never seen one and wanted to investigate. Now that that is done it's like it doesn't exist in his cage. I'm thinking of removing it.

I bought a cuttlebone for Sunflower which was about twice and a half his size. I haven't actually seen him nibble on it but he does use it as a hiding shield sometimes or he often scratches/sharpens his beak against the shell. I would etch some bits onto his drinking water for the calcium content, about once a week.

My mistake was that I bought him a large one. If I had known he wouldn't be too fond of it, I would have just bought a smaller cuttlebone at half the price.
