Help Harlequin

Postby josejohn » Sun Jan 09, 2011 2:08 am

I have 2 macaws. One 5 month old Blue and Gold ( Goofy ) and the other a 4 month old Harlequin ( Mac ). Goofy has settled in well and is Ok. I feed her once a day and the rest she eats herself.
I got Mac 4 days ago. I feed him 3 times a day ( 60CC x 2 each time ) as he has not started eating himself. The problem is that he is crying the whole day. The only time he is quite is when the lights are switched off at night. He is quite strong and energetic but the crying is driving the whole family crazy .He goes crazy if he sees any of us eating anything. He will fly right up to us and keep crying. He is not interested in any food in his cage ( nuts, fruits, corn on the cob etc which Goofy is eating ) Pls advice what to do.

Hey Jose, a couple of questions, before i offer any advice. When Mac is at the table when you are eating, can you feed him by hand ?, does he try your food on his own? Have you tried spoon feeding him his formula? Get back to me , Richard PS I think i can help , just trying to find out where he's at.
