Bruised beak?

Has anyone seen a bruise on a light-colored beak? Scotty loves to bang his big beak on things when he's feeling stroppy and a few days ago he developed a small purple spot just a bit below his nostrils, right on the front where he smacks it into stuff. Is the beak in fact vascular enough to bruise? If so, would it ever be anything to worry about? It doesn't bother him at all, and I suppose it is quite possible it's a grape juice stain or something.

I have seen this once on a WB Caique. At first we thought it was a food stain but it never went away. He played really rough so we decided it might be a bruise. Sure enough, it eventually grew out just like a bruise on a fingernail. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about unless he starts displaying signs of discomfort.

Yes, birdbeaks can bruise. I have seen more than a few budgie- and tielbabies smash into things when old enough to fly but too young to navigate. You know what its like, they launch themselves, get psyched about FLYINGG!!!! They make more and more speed and forget the fact that you need to know how to break, or at least swerve when an unmovable object dooms up in front of you.
Most of them will get their beaks bruised a couple of times. Its nothing to worry about unless you notice him having trouble eating or picking up things.
