Yes, birdbeaks can bruise. I have seen more than a few budgie- and tielbabies smash into things when old enough to fly but too young to navigate. You know what its like, they launch themselves, get psyched about FLYINGG!!!! They make more and more speed and forget the fact that you need to know how to break, or at least swerve when an unmovable object dooms up in front of you.
Most of them will get their beaks bruised a couple of times. Its nothing to worry about unless you notice him having trouble eating or picking up things.
