I'm just going stick with not giving them any. There are plenty of other foods out there, I'm sure they'll survive without it.

So i tried a mash like a few of you said you give, when i put the plate on top of his cage he looked at it and walked away. Then threw it on the floor and laughed at me... he usually is very excited about dinner time and gives a little squeek and eats his favorite but he doesnt have enough variety and i want him to try new things but sadly i dont think he'll be getting anymore mush lol XD

NO! NO! NO! That is the biggest mistake - presenting it once and giving up! You have to present it to them over and over and over again. You have NO idea how much food is wasted at my house when I'm trying to get new birds on a varied diet. Put the mash on top of their regular food and see if that helps. You have to give them new foods every day. Sooner or later they will try it. Keets and tiels are notorious for not eating variety. I have my tiels and bourkes on all sorts of good stuff.

You MUST be persistent.

I need some tips on where to start. I just rescued a Goffin's Cockatoo that has eaten nothing but sun flower seeds his entire life.(He has a lot of issues you can read about all of it on my post under the intro page) I've only had him 2 days. I bought a pelleted diet and put a mix of it and sunflower seeds in his dish. I've offered him dried fruit and some apple and carrot so far and he just flung it away. Also, some bread he did nibble on it a bit but threw most of it around. Any tips would be helpful.

Be patient and don't freak out. You have a rescue with emotional problems. It will not be easy but he will come around and start wanting what you eat. Eat a piece of apple in front of him then put it where he can get it and walk away. It will work eventually.

Everyday, I give my cockatiel a mixture of pellets and seeds along with some fresh fruit and veg. Usually apple and some other veg or fruit. I also give him quinoa or pasta or anything else cooked every few days. Is that enough?

I got Kooka to eat banana today! I ate some in front of him and then offered it to him and he took it, held it in his sweet little hand and nibbled on it! He even wanted seconds! I am so excited for him! Question would a birdie bread recipe, one that included pellets and vegetables and fruits, (one that is also devoid of added sugar and salt) be a balanced enough diet for everyday?

Hi guys
i feed my ringneck harrissons pellets plus fresh and froxen veggies that i thaw first in boiling water. She also eats direid chillies and small amounts of parrot mix. Ringnecks eat almost everything so she is easy to feed.
in the future id like to feed her more weatgrass but its harder to obtain now for me as the parrot store i used to by it from has stopped selling it.

I worry that she could do with a few more spouts but i am nervous of sprouting several different grains at the same time. Also my disability has resently werse'n'd so taking that into account i rely more geavuilly on harrision's pellets than i used to.

my ringneck likes soup mix occasionally ang sprouted chick peas i also try to give her lots of carrots and broccolli and sweet potatoe ans squash.

Does anyone now if it would be ok to freeze some harrissons pellets in a zipplock freezer bag in an ice cube tray for emergenies? Harrissons website says dont sore these pellets outside the container they come in. tHEY DONT HAVE PRESERVES LIKE ROUDYBUSH. I am curious as to how safe this idea is and wondering what your thoughts are?

your imput is much appeciated.
