Juice?

Postby kaylayuh » Fri Mar 18, 2011 8:09 pm

Cheney Bird loves juice. I mean, he REALLY loves juice. His favorite seems to be Minute Maid Berry Punch.. and he shoves his head into my glass when he sees I have some. Normally he only gets a few little bird-sips, but I was wondering.. how much juice is too much? He will go through hell and high water to get this juice. He really REALLY loves it that much.

Plain juice, meaning no concentrated white grape or other added sugars, should be fine. Scooter likes orange juice. He should get his own cup or get first dibs, though... no matter how excellent your oral hygiene is, sharing human mouth bacteria isn't so good.

I always take a glass of water before going to bed, right about the same time me and Einstein are doing our nightly cuddle. He demands to take a sip every night.

I didn't realize he liked juice/drinking out of glasses so much, so the first time he did it, I wasn't paying attention and he shoved his whole head in my glass! As much as I love him, I'm not too keen on the idea of having his feathers in my glass of juice, lol.

I made the mistake of pouring my GCC a little bit of juice into a bowl. The 100% juice, no added anything kind.

Now whenever he sees I have a glass of anything, he goes banana's trying to get at it.

I just looked at the side of the carton and this is a "5% juice blend". It has 1% grape juice concentrate, pear juice, and some other stuff. It does have added sugar, so I think as long as he only has a sip or two, he'll be fine.

He definitely will climb over/under/through anything and everything to get at the glass. Whoever he was with before must had given him juice, because he definitely will do everything he can to get to the glass.

Yeah, I'd go easy on that stuff. But maybe one day you can treat the both of you to fresh squeezed OJ or a little bottle of 100% apple or something. Then he can go to town!

He really only gets a drop or two of half water/half juice mix. It's probably more water than juice to be honest. But since I know he likes it so much, I'll have to go get some orange juice or apple juice for him so he can dunk his little head in his own glass. Luckily he likes the shower so I can get him wet once he gets his face all sticky!

I had 100% mango juice. Really thick. So tasty. They sometimes sell the 100% stuff as 'nectar' as well.

When he gets into it, make sure there is nothing important near by. Jack ends up coating everything within splattering distance with juice.
