Do you wash your bird's nuts?

If you buy whole nuts in the store like almonds, peanuts, etc with shells, do you wash them prior to serving?

Oh! THOSE nuts!

No. I would think the moisture would start growth of any environmental fungus.

Me too. And I never give them the entire nut. Just the nut itself. Just to be safe.

I admit I fel for it too, I know dog owners have to wash they're dog's nuts so I figured maybe he really wanted to know if he had to wash his birds nuts? I mean....It wouldn't really be an invalid question. Do You? Mine doesn't appear to have them but if he did I probobly would want to know if they should ever be washed too, those things tend to get infected with every species if you don't so.....??? Just sayin

Since birds keep theirs on the inside, I figured we were talking about food here folks! Where are your minds!

Back in the early days of the internet I participated on a horse-related email list and had written a detailed description of how to clean a horse's sheath in response to a question about it. It later, when the web started to evolve, got posted somewhere as a FAQ along with my email address because who heard of spam in those days? I am really glad the emails have finally stopped, because some people are truly sick puppies.

I honestly viewed the title innocently for the first maybe 6 times I passed it. And then afterwards.. that's a different story.

Entranced - when my daughter's riding place told me I had to wash my horses' sheaths, I thought they were jacking with me.
