do you give you're birds warm meals in winter?

Yeah, I know. I just barely heat it up. Stir thoroughly and then stick my finger through it to double check. I do that w/ baby food too, despite the thermometer. I'm just paranoid that way.

I only give them warm food if I make something for myself that they can eat. I almost always put it in the freezer for a couple minutes to let it cool down first.

Can't say it ever gets that cold to warrant warm food in winter, not like you guys with your snow, we just get yucky drizzly Melbourne weather :roll:

Ours sometime get warm rice if I've cooked it for dinner, but usually not till after we've eaten our dinner first, so it'd surely be cool enough by then.

They were getting warm, mashed vegies when Speckle was a little sick, just so she was getting a lot of the nutrients she needed, and she loved it so much it encouraged her to keep up her eating, mix some sprouted seed through it and some crushed pellets, brilliant pick-me-up food.

Our green cheek loves warm porridge in winter, and our lovebird has an egg and biscuit addiction so when its cold I make this with warm water.

It doesn't snow where I am either. It's not really about it being too cold. I don't think warm food does much for them in truly cold weather; higher calorie feed does more for them when there's actual concern about warmth.

I hate cold and they like warm food, so it's my little treat to them on cold days. . . and the warm bowl keeps my hands warm on cold mornings feeding.

im talking on a slightly heating the food up, im not talking fully cooked meals all prepared. i just put my self in my birds shoes and i wouldn't like stone cold refrigerated food all the time i would like warm food too!

It's no harm to feed them with warm foods.Birds need feeding assistance,especially in winter.I give Suet and black oil sunflower seeds are rich in fat sources for energy and to keep the body heat.

Does anyone know how to tell if an adult bird has crop burn? I'd be really interested to find out.

Most of the info on the net relates to baby birds.
