I'm so glad our GCCs came to us flighted, I love watching them dart around, they're such confident little fliers.
Our Tiel bubs had been doing little flies up to certain perches, and then one night they were sitting on the floor and one just took off flying! What amazed me was that whenever they'd get a little out of control, mum and dad would flank them and push them in a certain direction! At first I thought dad was just being a bully (he'd been plucking their heads a little too), it just looked like he was dive bombing them!

So, Chico should be good and weaned now. How's she doing?

Thanks for asking!
Yea, she is weaned now. Her diet stayed the same: budgie's pellets+seeds+veggies+sometimes boiled egg(which she loves)+rice+pasta+bread(the best is one from my sandwich) ;)
Snack is oat and hole grain cereal and millet of course- especially eaten together with budgies!
She is my cute wee-wee, welcome us home as soon as you put key in the door, you can hear WEE!WEE! She loves to take a nap in my shoulder which is impossible with budgies:)

Slowly she is making friends: all male budgies started be more around her and playing with the same toys. Blueberra(female) treats her as a competition or so and tried to pick up on her, but Chico finally respond. It didn't look like a fight, it was rather: "Leave me alone, little fellow!"

Their cages are close to each other, budgies often visit Chico cage and eat from her dishes(because the same food taste better from someone else dish). When I write it down I remember when I was reading zazanomore stories with budgies and Einstein
One thing different: Chico will never wolf-whistle ;)
Chico also likes my boyfriend's dog and vice-versa(under our supervision).

No regrets whatsoever except one lesson:

Baby birds shouldn't be able to buy in stores until fully weaned!

BTW: What should I do with baby formula:"Kaytee exact"? She didn't use a lot of it. Maybe somebody need it for birds? Roz?

Sounds like the baby is doing great. Is she keeping her weight on now?

Oooo. Even after all these years, I still love the little tiels. Such the little sweethearts!

I'll pass on the Exact formula. I don't use that. I think CaptWest does.

Or you can keep it in the freezer in case of emergency. It stays good for quite a while. Can't remember how long. I think is says on the label. Even before I had babies regularly, I kept some handfeeding formula on hand in case any bird got sick or needed to be medicated. My adult bird love handfeeding formula so it was a handy way to get meds or whatever into them.
