What brand of Pellets do you buy?

Postby zazanomore » Fri Apr 22, 2011 1:07 pm

My birds get roudybush, and they seem to really enjoy it.

They also get some tropican in their premium seed mix.

I checked "other". I buy whatever's on sale. If the size is too large I give it a whirl or two in the food processor.

I already explained the reasons I think Roudybush is the best pellet for the money. My Senegal Parrot and Cape Parrot eat Roudybush Maintenance Medium pellets. I try to give the Cape the whole ones and the Senegal the ones that broke in the bag. I get the 25lb bags and freeze them. Lasts me nearly a year.

Zupreem Avian Maintenance. He was on the tiny, tiny, tiny budgie sized pellets when I got him. I slowly upgraded him to a larger size that he can properly grip.
Wild animals are called 'wild' for a reason. Keep them that way. Adopt your pets, or buy them from a certified breeder.

Merlin was raised on Roudybush Crumbles and that is what I continue to feed him as a base. He seems to love it.

I use Vetafarm, the conures love their pellets, and they're trying out some fruit pellets also made by Vetafarm that I bought for the other birds to try, they just thought it was fun to throw them out onto the ground, although they're too big for the conures, so I'm soaking them in some juice and hot water and they love them! They told me off when I went to take it out to wash and refil the bowl haha! Little piggies they are

We give our conure Roudybush pellets, which she seems to enjoy.

Started out giving her Vetafarm pellets but we found that her poos were really sticky and gluggy. The vet said this is a common side effect of Vetafarm pellets.

I give Jazz TOP, because Eclectus can't have any vitamins or color added to their pellets because of the risk of wing flipping / toe tapping. There are not many brands without vitamins added.

He doesn't like pellets anyways, it's just that I think they have a certain dietary value. He probably eats 1 or 2 a day. I mix it in his bit of seeds he gets, or else he wouldn't touch it.

Harrisons - since that's the only high quality (maybe even THE only) pellets we can get here in the UK
