A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song. <3

It is a good question to ask when people are honest. In this case, it's obvious they will say anything just to get rid of the bird. I don't think it matters either as to why they are selling the bird; they are just the type of people to get rid of an animal to get a new one, or just because.

If the bird did inhale second had smoke - it will clear the lungs just like a human that quits smoking.

I smoke but not in the rooms where the birds are. I also have ion filters in every room. Sometimes the birds come into the smoking room but I am sure, just like a little kid who jumps around until they are out of breath, the birds expell whatever they might have enhaled.

Myrtle was fed only bird seed for two years and it wasn't even a good quality. She was rough looking like an old cat. She now gets Rowdy Bush and fresh vegies free choice. Her feathers are smoothing and her colors are getting brighter.

Myrtle was in a dark quiet room. She didn't talk and would not come out of her cage. She makes a lot of noice now but it is all in communication. She practices her vowel sounds and is saying words.
She is now even calling me when she wants picked up or will fly to where I am.

Don't be affraid. The bird will improve with love and care.

and about the noise im sure your neighbors wont really care,

I agree with you, Coral. But the OP has the concern and I think it will make her feel better/empowered to be able to be proactive about her concern.

I contacted the city with my concerns because I had so many birds. I was buying the house and I didn't want to find out afterwards that I had too many, too loud, etc.

My neighbors ended up being great (until I got a rooster, but that's a different story). They said they enjoyed the jungle noises there in the city. I only had problems with one neighbor and he was just a curmudgeon anyway. He used to yell at the kids playing in the alley, too.
