Spray Millet

Postby Ilovebirds » Wed May 04, 2011 5:43 pm

A week Amy (Parrotlet) ran out of food so I ran over to the store. (8 blocks away) I picked up the usual (some dried grass, regular cockatiel mix) and saw a rather odd thing which looked like seeds of some sort stuck to like a main frame I saw it said 2 for $1 so I bought 8 of them.
When I got home I gave some the Sunny and Sun Shine (Sun Conure and Jenday) they didn't seem to like it so I gave some to Amy and she loved it.
You see I love Spray Millet because Amy stopped eating for awhile and had recently started again and when I gave her the spray millet mixed with her food she would eat more and drink more water. Her color started to get better she was even more energetic.

millet spray is often called catnip for birds, its great for training and as a treat and is a must for baby birds because of his high nutrient and fat content, its fine to give it to her but not part of her main diet it should be a treat :)

Do yourself a favour and find a local feed store or something to find your feed from, paying $1 for 2 sprays seems a little over priced imo. Just for comparison, I pay $5 for 5 kilos of Millet Spray at my local feed store.
