Conjunctivitus - human to bird?

Postby Chris&Akilah » Sun Jun 05, 2011 11:22 am

So I woke up with 'pink-eye' yesterday :(. I've done some searching, and have learned humans can catch it from birds, but havn't found anything mentioned about birds catching it from humans. Do you think I have to worry about Akila catching it from me?

I had pink eye the last week, I was playing with my birds but not too much. They are doing fine right now :) and I'm good too. So I don't think you should be worried just don't spend too much time with them and don't rub your eye and touch them, but that's common sense :)

That sounds like the sort of thing that if it is transmissible one way, it's likely transmissible the other way. But if you wash your hands and keep him away from your eye, and are careful not to touch it while you are handling him, I think it would be quite unlikely you'd transmit it.
