It's funny you mention that because I was a little nervous they would require some serious coaxing to try food that color. I don't even think they noticed though! They just started eating it. It was their dinner too, so they weren't starving.

The way I got them all started eating more fresh food was by mixing organic frozen mixed veggies in with their seeds or pellets. I set up three sets of skewers every time and almost every time my parakeets ignore their skewer. I also give them a product called Soak And Simmer (it's here in these pictures) that took months for them to accept. Months and months. I just kept offering it for breakfast in various forms and one day they decided it was the best thing ever.

I don't eat nearly as healthy as they do. I'm eating ice cream right now. Really fatty delicious handmade espresso ice cream.

I do eat a lot of fruit and vegetables though and I can't stand to have them cooked. I'm definitely not a big health food only person though.

Nice! Lucky birds. Skewers are amazing, my birds love them too! Such an easy/fun way for them to get their fresh foods.
