Polyps in the cloaca and bird binding

Postby birdybird » Sun Jul 10, 2011 5:44 pm

I have a parakeet that got away yesterday. Today we found that it had an orange ball coming out of who knows where, It doesn't look like its coming out of the cloaca ... but maybe I didnt look at it well enough to see if its coming out of the cloaca. Could this be egg binding? Could it be an egg? in fact the ball is not hard, but I read that perhaps its an egg. Or could the bird have gotten hurt while it got away? Because it didnt have this ball yesterday that we found it. Could it be a polyp? Its urgent! What can I do? Because I can't take her to the vet right now.

Take her to the vet is the only thing I can think of. Do you have a photo? You said the bird got away, how did you recover it? How long was it gone?
