I am sure a lot of you know about this but I thought I would share...

I made Plumped corn, it is basically one part popcorn to 3 parts water in slow cooker overnight. The popcorn gets kinda swollen. I let it cool in the fridge and my birds LOVE it. I rinsed it off and dried it on papertowel and stored it in the fridge and have been giving it to them for the past few days....

I know we all think corn does not have a lot of nutritional value, for us maybe, but most of these birds raid the corn fields in their native lands.....food for thought..............pardon the pun!

While corn is not the most nutritious thing to offer birds I have found that it is very useful when you are trying to convince birds to eat more veggies. My parakeets are the most stubborn creatures under the sun and I managed to convince them to start eating veggies by adding defrosted frozen mixed veggies to their food. They would gobble up the corn at top speed and then grudgingly eat the rest.
