warming perches

Does anyone use these? And do they really help if you get drafts?

I though birds slept better when the temps are lower, so a little confused. The apartment gets huge drafts in the winter though so I plan on getting one for Windy next month unless people have horror stories.

The whole electrical perch thing sorta scares me a little is why i'm asking before I buy one :P

I'm also buying him a sunlight /lamp that hopefully will hopefully make him a little happier and psychologically healthier all around.

I have a sleep tent in the cage, and the cage is covered with a dark sheet, so I have had no need for a heated perch.

The day I brought Windy home I picked out a sleep tent for him, when he hit adolescence he would get really really nasty after being in there though. And I read somewhere that with some birds they can cause arousal so we put that away. He's the same if he gets under a blanket too, he just rushes out biting.

lol
