You'll have to let us know what kinds of foods are available in your area. I always look new foods up on Google to make sure they are safe for the birds and if I can't find a definite answer I don't feed them.

Dark leafy green vegetables are very good. So are red, orange, and yellow vegetables. Try to offer a variety. My birds really like kale and boy choy but I don't know if they are available near you. Some vegetables I feed my birds are kale, collard greens, bok choy, peppers (both regular peppers and hot peppers), carrots, corn, and peas. Some fruits to try are melons, apples, berries, pomegranate, and mango. There are also many seeds you can feed your bird and you can also sprout them. Nuts are good too.

And about pellets, is there really no way to get them where you are? I would be surprised to find out that was true. Have you tried contacting a few online stores to ask if they will ship to you? I know some American/Canadian stores ship bird supplies to customers in Japan so Egypt shouldn't be a problem. I give my birds some Harrison's pellet and some Totally Organic Pellets.

Have you tried sprouting yet? It is a great way to feed them. I am sprouting some quinoa right now. If you can get quinoa easily that would be great. I would suggest trying to sprout one type of seed at a time and see what happens.

You can also feed beans and lentils after they have been cooked thoroughly. You can try sprouting lentils too. I'm sure you have tons of different beans to try out.

And finally here is a link to an Egyptian food blog I just found. You can browse through it and see which foods you can find in your area. Just double check online to make sure they are not bad for birds.

Do you have couscous? My birds simply love couscous! I would try cooking up a small batch of couscous and adding some chopped up vegetables and maybe mixing an egg in at first to tempt them. Hopefully they will like it.

If there are no pellets, order them online with your parents. It's not fair that your bird has to grow up on foods that contain barely anything that are required for growth.

ok i will order pellets im going to call a friend of mine first maybe he knows a shop that got pellets if i didnt find here i will order from ebay . btw there is about 4 pen feathers grown under his head . so thats good news :D

Even when you do have pellets, keep feeding him colorful vegetables everyday. Pellets are only a supplement, and they still need their veggies!! Keep us updated :)

Haha I'm not surprised he liked corn! That was one of the first vegetables my birds decided was safe to eat! It sounds like he is willing to try new foods, which is good.

What kind of pellets, seeds, and other bird foods can you order? I order my pellets and stuff from this store. Not sure what the shipping rates would be for you.

another really good website (price-wise as well) is http://www.mysafebirdstore.com

Another thing to add is that she adds handmade gifts for your parrot(s) with each order, or sometimes an extra sample package of something to see if your parrot enjoys it etc.

I've been ordering my Hagen Tropican Tropimix there, in regards to the 20lb bags of the Large Parrot and also cockatiel-size parrots.
