Hi -- New to the forum. I have a 30 year old male orange wing (had Percy for 25 years). He has had no medical conditions in all the time I have had him. Today, I heard a strange sound coming from his room. It almost sounded like a crow squaking (never heard it from him before). He was in his cage making this sound with his right talon hanging behind the perch balled up and his right wing partially opened behind him (I thought maybe he was somehow stuck). He wasn't stuck.
I was able to pick him up and sat with him to try and calm him, keeping him close to my chest -- he pooped twice on me (he is not cage trained) within a minute or two and then regurgitated quite a bit. After a few more minutes he calmed down and I put him back in his cage. He was unable to hold onto the perch and slipped a few times. so I held him again. He then seemed to snap out of it. Within a few minutes he was back to 100% normal.
There have been no changes to diet or environment. I am wondering if anyone has any idea of what may have happened?
Thanks,
Gene
