Night Feed & Sunflower Seed

Postby MeanDonnaJean » Mon Sep 05, 2011 12:03 pm

I've got two questions regardin' the above subjects:

1) Should pellet/seed dishes be removed from cages overnight?
I don't see a need to keep food at their disposal thruout the night cuz all 3 of my guys/gals seem to eat plenty at numerous times thruout the day.

2) Are Black Oil Sunflower Seeds okay for cockatiels and/or budgies?
I know they are used mainly to attract wild birds but am curious if its okay to mix a pinch in with their regular food every other day or so.

Mine have black oil in the mix.

I get hungry at night and have to get up for food.

Because the sunflower seeds are so high in fat I sprout them first. :) Mostly. I do use them dry in training, as a reward.
