I feel like this is illegal. Do you?

I think it's illegal to have a loose animal in a car. I don't know. Isnt it? Take a look:

So I think these are illegal:

1). Taking a parrot to in a store (walmart, publix, supermarket)

2). Taking a parrot loose in a car (video above)

3). Taking a parrot in a gas station

So are those illegal? I mean, yeah a lot parrots are tame and won't fly away in the place, but isnt letting a parrot in a store, loose in a car, and in a gas station against the rules or illegal? :?

That could be a very controversial subject.

Is it illegal to have a dog run free within a moving vehicle? --- not at all
I'm pretty sure likewise with a feathered friend.

As for Walmart and other department stores, it would depend upon their policies.

A service dog (seeing-eye dog / therapy dog) is usually permitted in most establishments.
A parrot? I have no idea.

To be completely honest, If I were to take my bird into a Walmart for a few minutes and someone complained that it were bothering them (and we all know that there is ALWAYS that ONE person) I'd tell them to screw off. "You and your first world problems, eh?" lol

my 2 cents.

well i wouldnt bring my bird in to the shop, i have taken her to the shop but she stayed outside with my bf wen i went in, i wouldnt bring her in just for common curtesey. just like i wouldnt sneeze with out covering my face. its not a rule (that i know of), but seems a bit rude to me. have an animal loose in the car is different, if its not against the law it should be. its a distraction. and u dont know if/when the bird (or other animal) might get a fright. and flap about...you get my drift
im not sure its a law but do think it should be...just for security like

ive taken my bird in the car and he sits on my shoulder.. if the store has signs that say no animals aloud then thats illegal right? but i dont take my parrot into stores unless their pet shops/parrot shops/vet. office.
A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song. <3

I heard you can get a ticket if you bring a loose animal in a car because it's Destrated Driving.
So I will either put my bird in a carrier or a small cage for traveling. To be on the safe side, I'll put a seat belt over him/her. Just in case.

I don't think bringing a bird in a department store is illegal but I would consult with the staff first.

When I picked my daughter up and drove 24 hours home we had a tiel in the car with us. He was getting restless in the cage so we let him out. He sat on the sterring wheel for many many miles and was happy as could be, and caused no problems.

BTW the video in question is of the gentleman that founded this site...I am 99.999% sure. I would guess that he is up on what is and isn't legal.
