Air fresheners..good bad and ugly..

Postby Boman » Tue Sep 27, 2011 10:07 pm

As far as I understand, using products such as Febreeze, Glade plug-ins, and scented candles are very harmful towards a birds respiratory track. I've heard boiling cinnamon sticks, cloves and the like is a good way to keep the air smelling fresh and preventing health issues for our parrots.

What about essential oils? Eucalyptus, ginger, lemon oil, orange, peppermint etc

Unlike the Febreeze and Glade plug-ins, these are derived from natural sources. Can they be heavily diluted and sprayed? Heated while diluted?

Discuss :) -- getting my parrot in 10 days and wanna make sure im rdy to rock.

Thanks!

I wouldn't use any of them, personally. I'll expand more on it later when I have more time.
