You know that people will think poorly of it. You know it's the wrong thing to do. So why are you doing it? How is it the bird's fault? How is it fair to the next bird that the inevitably the same thing won't happen again?

Why would you even post something like that here. You know that what you're doing is wrong, but yet you have the gall to not only do it, but brag about it here. Shame on you. Those poor Cockatiels. How sad for them that they are being punished for your selfish desire to own a Sun Conure. What next? The Sun Conure goes because you always thought it would be cool to own a Grey, or a Macaw. In my opinion, if you think so little of your birds then you don't deserve to have ANY.

I remember you were having trouble with a cockatiel biting. Sun Conures bite harder. Way harder.

Also, they actually have very ugly voices. I don't mind it because I love my sun conure, but they do sound akin to something like roosters. It's nothing like the chirping of a cockatiel or GCC conure. They are beautiful, though.

Otherwise, if you're selling your cockatiel b/c you want to replace it with a Sun Conure, shame on you. If you're selling your cockatiel because you're afraid of the biting and don't know what to do, the Sun Conure will be at least 10% more scary come adolescence. They are more aggressive, move more quickly, and are much smarter. What do you expect to do, then?

Since you're set on selling the bird, at least find it a good home. And provide the new Conure a good home. For the next 40 years.

I won't be as harsh as others, but atleast make sure they go to good homes. Our two guys are part of our family and I would never get rid of them to get something else. I can't say I will never get rid of them period...as life happens, but not to replace them. Have you considered keeping both? I mean the upkeep on a healthy bird is not too expensive aside from annual check ups. As long as you can provide them all with adequate love and ettention.

All is can say is "OMG!" This is why I dont hang around here as much as I used to. Some people are very irresponsible and its all about them. What about the tiels 'that you loved' so much? What about them? Financially you cannot - or did not - provide vet care for your tiels (and one died a horrible death) and now you want a sun! How old are you? You have a boyfriend! I thought you were only 11 or 12 yo. If you are older, you should know better. You should be banned from this forum, because the members here love and care for their flock. You are not what this forum is about and not what Michael created this forum for. You have a case of "out with the old, in with the new" I am absolutely disgusted! Those poor tiels, that poor sun.

LemonLover please do not leave the forum. If you do I will worry the rest of my life what is happening with you and your kids.

I agree with you to rehome your tiels to someone who can take better care of them.

I was away for the weekend. The last thing I heard was that something was wrong with Lemon. Is she okay now? You did not respond to my questions about her situation.

Please - wait at least a month before getting another bird. It will give you time to get over the lose of the tiels. It will also give you time to research care and feeding of the one you are considering.

And whatever happens DON'T WAIT UNTIL IT IS A DIRE SITUATION before you come on here and ask for help. YOU KEEP ME UPDATED ON WHAT IS HAPPENING EVERY DAY. NO MORE OF THIS SHIT WHERE YOU DUMP AN EMERGENCY BOMB AND THEN DON'T RESPOND TO MY EMAIL.

That said - please keep me informed.

I have become a little overwhelmed and have considered rehomeing my tiels. I feel quilty that I don't spend more time with them. I just don't know any one who would do better or keep them together. So you see - I am willing to rehome too if I can get them a better ife.
