I'm not sure why this topic is still around. I expected it to be erased about 2 hours after posting. It actually presents nothing useful, and contributes nothing positive to the forum at large.

No need to allow one person to disuade you from something you enjoy. Especially when that individual can be so easily avoided.

If you click on her username in one of her posts and go to her profile, you van then click add as foe and that will automatically filter out her posts and you will never have to even know she exists. Very easy and VERY thorough!! Give it a try and don't leave!!

Michael, could you please close or remove this thread. I find it offensive and insulting to all animals owners. It more than upsets me, and I am sure, many others, just by being here. I personally have no issue with people re-homing birds because of personal reasons or for the betterment of the birds/animals life.
I find this person selfish, rude, ignorant and a liar. PLEASE CLOSE OR DELETE (preferable) THIS THREAD.

Lets get this forum back UP from where it has slipped to in the last 2 months. There is so much good here, so many good people, great ideas etc. COME ON EVERYONE, LETS GET HAPPY AGAIN

I agree with everyone that this is a horrible post and that the OP (original poster) is irresponsible and shouldnt be a bird owner.

That said however:
PLEASE CLOSE OR DELETE (preferable) THIS THREAD.
Its okay to lock a thread, but if its delete:ing it is a step too far. A forum should be a place to help each other and the second moderators start deleting threads (or otherwise "control" what people think) and the like forums go downhill QUICKLY. As long as a post is within the rules of the forum deleting it is nothing but power abuse and I dont think Michael is that kind of guy.

By all means I think this is a very inappropriate thread and that it contributes nothing to the good spirit of this forum so LOCK IT. But dont start throwing weight around to delete things. Instead let it serve as a BAD example of what a bird owner SHOULDNT be.

I am glad to hear that you are keeping your birds. I wish you the best of luck and many happy years with them. You do not have to leave the forum, justdon't post up things that are obviously going to cause issues.

Ok, maybe requesting it deleted was abit over the top. I am very upset at losing my tiel and then to read this, well, say no more (it really upset me)

Michael, you created this forum to share your experience and knowledge of birds and what is entailed in keeping them as companion animals. This post no way reflects that.
Also, can I say how disappointed I am that I have been a member here for 4 or 5 mths and the one and only time you have replied to any of my posts is to tell me to "skip" something I find offensive.
I cannot, and will not, ignore or skip, something that I do not agree with. Being a forum, the only way we can get a message accross is in writing. I do not always respond to posts, yes I read all of them, but if I have no imput, then I dont post. I will not waste their or my time saying, "Yes, I read your post but cant help, dont have that species" If I physically saw someone mistreating a person or animal, I would not just turn away, cos I dont like what I am seeing or because its none of my business.
If 10 (or 100 or 1000) people posted a similar scenario and a few of us wrote what we thought, and if we could just get one person to look at it from a different perpective. Ok, re-home your existing bird, but reconsider "upgrading" to a different bird for a few months or years, then this forum has done good - One less parrot living a miserable life or being surrendered to a rescue. We all know that parrots have requirements that must be met, so little bird requires "littler" things than a bigger bird (wont go into it, but I am talking bigger beak, bigger bite, louder squawk, diet, toys, time etc)
Even the way this person has left this forum, just shows how immature and disrespectful they are.
We write on this forum, it is to be expected that we will not like or agree with all responses but thats how it goes.
Thats it, I will not post on this thread anymore (well, I dont want to, but if I read something I dont agree with, I will. Never say Never LOL) See, I am getting happy again. Now to go look for a feel-good thread

Well if you want to respond, you can respond. But when you said that you wanted the topic deleted there would have been no way to reply. This implied that you weren't so keen on responding as having it disappear. That's why I told you to ignore it. If your intention was merely to respond to it, there would not have been a need for discussion about deleting, leaving the forum, etc.

I prefer to leave topics alone in case others can learn from it or have something to add.
