Soya milk

Postby laducockatiel » Sun Oct 23, 2011 11:47 am

Hi guys,

I've seen this guy on YouTube making breakfast for his parrots and he gave them cereal with soya milk. He says it is ok to use, and I reckon it is ok, so I bought some. The one I bought is organic and unsweetened. I just wanted a second opinion if it is ok to use or not.

If it isn't ok, then I'll just have to enjoy it myself

If Soya milk is soy milk, it's fine to use as long as it's labeled certified organic. If it isn't, then I don't recommend using it. It won't kill anyone/anything outright (indeed, GMO soy is in just about everything that is processed in our modern day in the USA--it's illegal in germany), but it would contain spliced in bacterial genes that produce herbicidal BHT that becomes activated in your (bird's) system.

Do your birds like it? I don't go near soy milk much because I'm allergic.

Can you post the link instead? The video isn't showing up on the laptop or this Tab.
