Usually it's a bunch of different food blended together. Here is a link to a video where you can see step by step instructions. This lady calls it chop instead of mash but it's the same idea and very healthy for birds. Just make sure to look up certain foods to make sure they are not toxic, like avocado.

Thanks hungrybird, that link was good.

What I usually do, is I get my birds favourite foods and just put them in the food processor, simple as that. (if you don't have a food processor, you can just chop them up into really small pieces).

If the cage has an odor I would take everything out and wash the entire cage. In the tub or in the lawn or whatever you have. When you put it back together put newspaper on the bottom. Then you can just pick up the dirty newspaper and put fresh newspaper down every day and the cage will stay clean for much, much longer. I can't imagine going back to my old ways of not using newspaper. It makes everything so much easier and cleaner.

And I'm almost positive Greys are powder producing birds. Two of my birds are cockatiels and they produce powder too. I suggest spraying Reggie with water to give her a bath or putting a big tub of water in for her to bathe in. Just make sure the water is not too hot or too cold. I always test it with my hand to be sure. You can also consider offering her red palm oil. I'm not really sure how much dust/powder Greys usually produce but I'm guessing it is a lot more than a tiny cockatiel makes. Hopefully some Grey owners will chime in to help out.

My male cockatiel came to me with a naked back. He must have plucked before he escaped his previous owner. He has not plucked since I've had him but the feathers are never coming back. I bought an amazing water spray bottle (for like $2! I love my neighborhood!) that lets off a wide and gentle spray that is almost like mist. He loves it. He even puts his foot on the nozzle to hold it in place while I spray him. I also give them red palm oil in their food. The brand I use is AviGlo but there are many types to choose from. I must admit my birds HATED red palm oil at first. Really hated it. They refused to eat anything with red palm oil on it, even seeds or pellets, which they are always willing to gobble up. I just refused to give in and they eventually changed their minds and decided they love it. Now they scream for it. Birds are so weird.
