I have a female sun conure who is about 15 years old. Recently she got a check up and the vet said she doesnt have a good heart. I feed her harrison's adult lifetime pellets and used to give almonds as a treat. I don't give as much almonds anymore and have been trying to get her eat more fruits and veggies. Apples, oranges, and sweet potatoes are her favorite but I can't get her to eat much else, so I decided to make birdie bread with a lot of vegetables. She loves it, but how healthy is it? I used corn bread mix and am not sure if thats the best. I was thinking maybe if I used unsweetened apple sauce instead of olive oil like I did it would be healthier but I don't know how great the other ingredients are either. Its from trader joes, ingredients are enriched unbleached flour, sugar, enriched cornmeal, baking powder, corn, vanilla powder, and salt (so yeah, not good

). Should I use cornmeal instead? I'm afraid if its not sweet enough she wont even eat it. If anyone has any suggestions about this itd be great. Maybe if I just packed in as much veggies and not a lot of the mix?
But what foods should i be focusing on to help her heart? Also we mix red palm oil into the harrisons. The vet said to give aspirin daily but is that good?
