Leroy was out flying and crashed into a wall yesterday and since then he's not really been himself.
There are no signs of illness, he eats like a pig as usual, his poop hasnt changed and he has no balance issues.
What we have noticed though, which was very obvious, is that he is moving more slowly, and he doesnt want to either step up or flight recall. He just wants to sit still or move around slowly.
He can fly by himself, no worries there, and land perfectly. The problem is that he doesnt want to do any of the stuff he's learned so well. He still wants to cuddle, get his head scratches and touching him is no problem.
Any suggestions? I called our vet (bird expert vet, how thankful I am that we have a clinic focused on exotic animals in our town), and their advice was to observe his apetite, balance and behavior. They didnt think that I needed to come in with him unless one of the above changes radically.
What do you guys think, is he just careful and being catious? Maybe he lost a little self esteem?
Any ideas why he doesnt want to do step up or flight recall, but still has no problems with our hands but actually likes to get scratched? Can it be that he doesnt want to come out of his cage, because its scary outside now? (we took him out for training today and it was tehre we realised that he didnt want to do the things he knew).
Cheers guys!
