can petting or touching your bird often be bad?

thanks glass onion. She doesnt talk yet so I refer to a squawk more as a low cute sound. Kinda like a greeting to us. We pet her then she steps up crawls up to our shoulders and gives us a kiss. When she has become too loud I do put her inside her cage for a timeout then a little while later when she is being good I take her out to train and play again.
