Crazy or Bored?

Postby Zooey » Sun Jan 29, 2012 6:48 pm

So lately my budgies have been restless. They have been screeching 24/7 and flapping around like crazy. It has been a pain to clean up and listen to them. I wake up each morning listening to them from across the house. Are they going mad or are they just way too bored? Please help ASAP, my family is complaining.

More toys, definitely.
Do you have any specific toy suggestions for birds who like to destroy everything and like to forage a lot?

YES! I have a budgie so I know what you need.. Get balsa, it's a type of really soft wood, almost like styrofoam.. Also, yucca!

I also wrap pieces of millet in tissue paper and hang it around the cage. Spice goes insane and rips apart the tissue to get the millet. At first I cut little slits in the tissue to make it visible, and now I wrap the millet in layers of tissue to make her work harder :)
