OK, should have clarified when I said scraps from plate I don't mean literally FROM MY PLATE. I generally give a little bit of what I've cooked up for supper to my birds. We have a "no pets at the dinner table while we're eating" policy (I work with reptiles, so the rule came out of salmonella contamination prevention practices)... except for my elderly cat who could use every bit of fat he can get... he gets special privileges.

As far as the zupreme goes, it's the better food that I can get on my budget, and it's convenient because my other bird and a coworker of mine also use the same food. The zupreme is not the only thing they're getting fed either. If I had a bigger budget, and an easier way of getting it besides paying outrageous shipping online then sure, I'd switch to something like Harrison's. If feeding my bird fruity pellets along with a large amount of fresh greens, fruits, and other unprocessed foods is truly so harmful then I'm amazed that ANY pet birds survive in captivity.

I tried getting my conure to eat Harrison's, but he won't take it. He tries it, but will avoid it to the point that I cannot switch completely to it, as he won't eat much if its the only thing in his bowl, and if I mix it in, he eats around it.

As I understand it, the Harrison's potent formula is full of sunflower seed, which is not something my conure really enjoys.

My vet also recommends Zupreem second to Harrison's. And when I told my vet that my conure likes and eats Zupreem readily, he said that's great.

I feed him other fruit, veggies, and nuts to supplement the pellets, and he has been really healthy and seems "happy". His poops are also not completely rainbow colored, contrary to popular belief.

My 3 year old female Senegal ( Jaydee ) has not molted in a long time. She's healthy, eats well and has a good disposition. I thought she would molt yearly. Any thoughts? Walt

If shes healthy and eating well, it shouldnt be a problem. she might just be one of those birds that molts later than usual. dont worry.
